Rightto information means the right to information accessible under this. Act whichis held by or under control of any public authority and includes the right to:

·        Inspection of work,documents, records

·        Taking notes, extractsor certified copies of documents or records

·        Taking certified samplesof material

 
Obtaininginformation in the form of diskettes, floppies,tapes, video cassettes or in anyother electronic mode or through printouts where such information is stored ina computer or in any other device.
“INFORMATION”means any material in any form, including records, documents, memos e-mails,opinions, advice, press releases, circulars,orders, logbooks, contracts ,reports, papers, samples, models, data material held in any electronic form andinformation relating to any private body which can be accessed by a publicauthority under any other law for the time being in force.
Requestfor Obtaining Information :
Aperson, who desires to obtain any information under this act, shall make arequest in writing or through electronic means in English or Hindi or in theofficial language of the area in which the applicants being made accompanyingsuch fee as may be prescribed to the Public Information Officer specifyingthe particulars of the information sought by him or her.
